MAKING INFORMED DECISIONS
with Educational Technology
BLOGS
For the educators exploring the use of Blogs for their class, wix.com is a great hosting site for individual or collaborative blogs. This resource provided an intuitive, simple, and free method to create the very website you are looking at now.
EPORTFOLIOS
wix.com
sites.google.com
For ePortfolios, wix.com is once again recommended, but primarily for personal or professional usage. For a typical classroom, however, the more versatile and user friendly google sites is preferred. It also has many more features students are likely to pick up quickly.
CREATIVITY TOOLS
For the technologies that allow students to create their own contect, I recommend voicethread.com and Jupyter Notebook. Voicethread allows students to create and modify videos with interactive comments and recording features. Jupyter Notebook allows students to write documents that incorporate programs, coding, and other features. Itempool.com is also a useful tool for adding interactive questioning into videos.
PHYSICS CONTENT TECHNOLOGY
These are all physics content technologies that I have explored during the Fall 2020 semester. For a larger list of useful links, check out the blog post about these technologies.
